Sonic Youth debuted the new EVOL material live on April 12th, in Austin, TX -- later released officially via Sonic Death. "EVOL" was released on vinyl/cassette in May, and they toured Europe in May and June, performing the bulk of the album ("In The Kingdom #19" and "Bubblegum" were never played live) and choice cuts from the previous records.
  3. Grorisar says:
EVOL is the third studio album by the American alternative rock band Sonic was released in May by SST Records, the band's first release on the album is notable for being the first with a new drummer, Steve Shelley, replacing Bob Bert, and for showing signs of the band's transition from their no wave past toward a greater pop Noise rock, post-punk.
  4. Garisar says:
Apr 28,  · referencing EVOL, LP, Album, RE, RM, , B, ORG An Ok pressing, some surface noise but nothing unbearable. Been told that the repress (on the band's Goofin label) is better/5(K).
  5. Gonris says:
This review is for the packaging of the album and the packaging only, hence the three star rating. The music on this album changed me as a musician and how I listened to music entirely(in the best possible way), if you are looking to get into Sonic Youth this album, Sister, or Daydream Nation would be ideal places to start/5(53).
